Bare Bones releases BBEdit 9.0

iPhone’s arrival in Russia confirmed

Earlier this week, Russian communications company VimpelCom announced their intention to bring the iPhone to Russia, the first company to do so. The particulars aren’t available yet, but VimpelCom representatives said they hope to be selling the iPhone “…later this year.”

Apple and AT&T Discussing Official Tethering Option for iPhone?

The email was in response to a complaint that AT&T is not offering a tethering option for the iPhone, even though it is offered on other smartphones as a $30/month add-on. Apple Releases ProRes QuickTime Decoder

Apple today released ProRes QuickTime Decoder 1.0, which allows Mac and PC users to view Apple ProRes files through QuickTime. ProRes, released as part of Final Cut Pro 6 in April 2007, is a post-production format targeted at video editors and offering uncompressed high-definition quality at standard-definition file sizes.

The Guardian reports that a television ad for the Apple iPhone has been banned by the U.K.’s Advertising Standards Authority after receiving complains about misleading claims.

Almost 12 million iPhone sales

A source at TechCrunch says that Apple is doing verry well with its 3G iPhone and will sell its 12 millionth this week. That means that it will soon match its whole 1st year in sales. in other words, those are more sales than the first gen iPhone! in less then two months.

Apple launches iPhone version 2.0.2 update

The 248.7MB update is available through iTunes and comes just two weeks after version 2.0.1.
In traditional Apple form, no specific issues are identified in the current release notes, which only indicate “bug fixes” for the mobile operating system.

A new analyst report from Piper Jaffray claims that Apple’s September announcement will reveal a new iPod Touch and new MacBooks.

Intel Officially Brands Nehalem as ‘Core i7′ Processor

Intel has announced that the upcoming Nehalem processor will be officially known as the Core i7.
Nehalem has been the code name for Intel’s upcoming processors first due in Q4 2008. Nehalem represents a major overhaul of Intel’s processor technology and introduces a number of improvements over existing process bottlenecks.
